User Experience Stage

Producer: Jeff Patton
Assistant: Angela Martin

If you’re working on software that has users, whether you know it or not, you’re a user experience person.

Don’t think of user experience work as only the user interface design, rather it’s all the decisions that go into identifying the software to build for the users we choose to target, the approaches we use to collaborate and validate decisions with the users, and the design of the user interface – both it’s usability and the way the design makes your users feel when using the software. In agile development, adopting strong user experience practice can significantly increase the value you bring to users, and the business paying for the software.

As a participant in the Agile 2008 UX stage:

There’s something to learn for everyone. Developers, product owners and customers, business analysts, testers, and business leaders all benefit from injecting user experience concerns and practice into their agile approach. Experience UX practitioners will notice the large number of thought leaders from the UX community that have to share their best practice for working on Agile projects.

There are fun, enlightening, and valuable sessions for everyone in the UX stage. The UX stage organizing committee is pleased to invite you to this year’s program.
