Going along with the music festival metaphor, Muzik Masti stage provides you an opportunity to jam with fellow musicians and artists at the conference. We welcome all you music and theatre lovers to join us during the evenings after the main conference sessions. We will be hosting a dance, theatre and music extravaganza before icebreaker and banquet receptions for fellow musicians and artists to perform. It will be a great place to re-energize yourself and another networking opportunity to make new friends. The most popular performance will be repeated after the banquet dinner.

Opening Hours

The Muzik Masti stage will be open for performances at the following times. See also the conference program.

  • Monday 16:00-18:00 and 21:00 - 23:00 (open for jamming and rehearsing from 14:00)
  • Tuesday 21:30-23:00 (jam/rehearse 18:00 - 19:00)
  • Wednesday 21:00-23:00 (jam/rehearse 18:00 - 21:00)
  • Thursday 21:00-23:00 + performance after the banquet (jam/rehearse 18:00 - 19:00)

In addition to this, the stage will be open for jamming and rehearsing every day during breakfast until 8:15 and lunch until 13:45.

Performance scheduling and participation

Most scheduling will be done on an ongoing basis as bands form themselves. The following forums will be the primary channel for connecting musicians and announcing Muzik Masti events during the conference:

  • The Muzik Masti mailing list. Just send an empty email to to join.
  • The notice board in the Muzik Masti room will contain the schedule, if you have a performance feel free to grab a slot (open-space style).


Examples of messages you might post on these forums:

  • My band the Rabid Racoons will be performing tuesday 21:30.
  • I have a band looking for musicians.
  • I'm a musician looking for a band.
  • I would like to do a music clinic, for example teach drums.
  • Anything else - for example I have a stand up comedy or juggling act.

The submission system will still be open, but it was primarily intended to be used before the conference. We don't expect it to be used as much during the conference.

Equipment list

A fully rigged stage with instruments will be provided:

  • Keyboard
  • 2 Electric guitars & amps
  • Electric bass & amp
  • Drum set & sticks
  • Some percussion instruments, for example congas/cowbell/shaker/tambourine/etc
  • 1 Classical / 1 Acoustic Guitar.
  • Banjo
  • Violin
  • 4 microphones
  • PA sound system including:
  • 2 main speakers.
  • 2 monitor speakers.
  • Amplifier for main speakers & monitors.
  • Mixer with reverb.
  • 4 microphones & stands & cables.

Feel free to bring your own instrument if you like.

Banquet performance

To add to the fun, based on the performances during the week, one band will be selected by popular demand to perform after the banquet. This band will be dressed in up in real costumes provided by a company which specializes in such events.
